Is Atkins diet safe ?
How risk-free are low carb diets?
Are Atkins and low-carb diets unsafe to your wellness?

Yes, I know that these are burning questions for dieters worldwide.

I personally tested the Atkins diet and a low carb diet and the diets caused me drop off weight very quick. Even So, not just did I lose weight in fat, I as well lost muscle weight.

This is surely not healthy. Moreover, the muscle mass you drop off, the less toned your body shape is. The end result is that you will finish up still looked thin and soft with loose skin.

What is daunting is that later on you are out of the Atkins or low-carb diet, you will most likely regain all the weight you loss, and more. This is because your muscles are constantly active and burn calories. Since you have less muscle mass and fewer now, the metabolism of your body or the ability to burn calories decelerates tremendously.

Put Differently, when you gain weight again, you put on body fat instead of muscle, if you do not exercise. You will be weightier and less healthy than before you go on Atkins or low-carb diet. To complicate things, because less muscle tissue resulted in decreased metabolism and therefore fewer calories, you'll swell.
Since then I stayed out of Atkins and low carb diet. Both schemes are almost alike to those they need to reduce drastically on your consumption of carbohydrates. Atkins diet went further by advocating almost no intake of carbohydrates for 2 weeks before bringing some carbohydrates in your meals gradually thenceforth.

In Any Case the loss of muscles, are they safe low-carb diets? This is what Dr Lyn Steffen and Dr Jennifer Nettleton,University of Minnesota School of Public Health, commented in a report in the Lancet, "Low carbohydrate diets for weight management are far from healthy, given their association with ketosis, constipation or diarrhea, halitosis, headache and general fatigue to name a few. "

The doctors warned that increased dietary protein load on the kidneys and change the balance of acid in the body. It causes loss of minerals from bone stores and affect bone strength as well. The doctors went on to state that "Our most important criterion should be indisputable safety, and low carbohydrate diets is currently fall short of this benchmark."

The creator of the Atkins diet, Dr. Atkins, died in 2003 after being accused of having slipped on an icy road and fatally shot in the head. Even So, his medical report said he got a history of heart attack, hypertension and congestive heart failure.

Dr. Atkins had medical conditions associated to his low carb diet is one proposal. Would you take the risk of going on a low carb diet? I do not think I will. If I ever need to drop off weight, I'd rather go to the proved method of good eating and regular physical exercise instead of jumping on any fad diets.
